It’s my favorite time of year – time for crisp autumn air, crunchy leaves underfoot, hoodies and jeans, and….fall mini-sessions! I had so much fun at my first ever set of Fall Mini-Sessions last year that there was no question that they had to happen again this fall! Fall Mini’s are a great way to capture family and individual portraits for holiday cards, or just to update that picture over the mantel! So here’s the scoop….

20 minute session, yielding 10-15 images for review in an online gallery

Session Fee: $50.00

Perfection {Sugar Grove Yorkville Newborn Twins Photographer}

There aren’t many things that are more perfect than a newborn baby. Except for two newborn babies! I had the honor of photographing this long time client as they added not one, but two bundles of joy to their family. They were seven weeks old at the time of the session, which is a bit older than I usually prefer for newborns, (the ideal time to schedule a newborn session is during their first two weeks of life, when they are the most sleepy and flexible) but we made it work. Petite Miss A fought off sleep the entire time I was there, despite the heat being cranked up and a sound machine right by her side! Big brother Ben, on the other hand, was out like a light with a full tummy, nestled in a cozy, warm beanbag. So amazing to see those different personalities emerge already! Awake or asleep, they were both perfectly adorable and wonderful to cuddle!

Black and White {Yorkville Baby, Children, and Family Photographer}

I am a huge fan of black and white photographs. I just love the classic, timeless simplicity of a black and white photograph. Often when I am editing a client’s proof gallery, a certain image will just jump out at me as a black and white. It might be a pensive expression on a child’s face, a lingering hug between a father and son, or just the overall feel of a moment in time. This particular image just called out “black and white” to me – the traditional outfits that Mom picked out for her three boys coupled with the fun of frolicking in autumn leaves make this a photograph that, I feel, could have been taken in a different era. Of course, I do love that warm, golden autumn light too, so I’ll post both versions here and let you choose your favorite!

Mini-Session Mayhem: Boys! {Yorkville Baby & Children Photographer}

My guess is that when this mom ventures out to the grocery store with these three blondies in tow, she gets a lot of “Wow, you’ve got your hands full!” Don’t you just love it when people say that? There was no shortage of energy abounding during this session – but in a good, stick-swinging, leaf-crunching kind of way!

One {Big Rock Baby, Children, and Family Photographer

I happen to know that the handsome little guy in this post turned ONE today. I’m pretty sure he’s been snoozing for a while now (hopefully!), but for his parents who might be checking the blog for a sneak peek, here’s a little birthday present! This family just recently moved to a farm where they run their landscaping business, so little T is no stranger to large piles of dirt or loud machinery – you’ll see what I mean…..

Mom and Dad are both big fans, but who wouldn’t be with those big blue eyes?

Fall Beauty {Yorkville Baby Children Family Photographer}

2010 Fall Mini-Sessions {Yorkville Baby Children Family Photographer}

Ah, Autumn. Hands down, my favorite season of the year. I love that chill in the air when you wake up in the morning. Love the way you can almost smell the leaves changing color. Love putting on that first pair of jeans again after a summer of shorts and flip flops. Love trips to the apple orchard and the pumpkin farm. And this year, I have a new love to go along with autumn – the 2010 Fall Mini-Sessions! I am so excited to offer these short, painless mini-sessions designed to capture that perfect family image for this year’s holiday cards, gifts, or just because it’s been more than a few years since your last family photo.

The $65 session fee includes:

- a 15 minute mini-session

- an online gallery of 8-10 proofs

And your choice of:

- One digital image to create your own holiday cards and prints

- Set of 24 custom designed holiday cards

For those of you who have ordered holiday cards from me in the past, you know that these are not your normal Target variety cards. There is a wide variety of custom designs – from traditional to fun and modern – and you have your choice of either a flat or folded version, printed on a heavy cardstock with glossy or linen finish. They are unique and sure to make a statement! You can view the 2009 Holiday Card Collection on my website (located under “galleries) – the 2010 Collection will be available for viewing soon!
